Reflections for the Holiday Season

Our October collaboration with Enchanted Designs by Molly and three prestigious salons in the Boston area was a huge success! We raised enough to offer emotional support through the I Wish I Knew series to women at 4 care centers in Massachusetts. We will also award a cash grant to a patient through the Patient-to-Patient, Heart-to-Heart program at Beth Israel.

Thank you for your support.

Remember, this collaboration will last through the holiday season and all year long. The beautiful bracelets, woven in subtle shades of silver and gold Swarovski crystals with sterling findings and a crystal dangle at the clasp, are a perfect gift for the holidays or any special occasion. They are available through the holiday season at Persona Salon on Newbury Street, Boston, Headlines Salon on Main Street in Falmouth and Rudolph Adamo Salon on Stage Coach Way in Cohasset. And of course, they are available for delivery at That Store on the web site. www.thatbarrygirl.org - for the holidays and all year.

October Collaborations that Run All Year Long

This October marks our second year collaborating with Enchanted Designs by Molly to raise funds to help women with breast cancer emotionally, financially and as they move into recuperation. Once again, Molly has designed a unique bracelet for That Barry Girl Foundation, called Reflections. Created in subtle shades of silver and gold Swarovski crystals with sterling findings and a crystal dangle at the clasp, the bracelet not only symbolizes the circle of love but also engenders reflection on the complexity of life, like the complexity of the crystals themselves.

The bracelets will be available at 3 Salons this year, Persona Salon on Newbury Street in Boston, Headlines Salon on Main Street in Falmouth and Rudolph Adamo Salon on Stagecoach Way in Cohasset, Massachusetts. As always, we can take orders on line at That Store, www.thatbarrygirl.org, and ship direct.

I Wish I Knew series inspires author on Alzheimers

Dr. Zoe Lewis met Fanny in Miami and also came to visit Casa Wish in Mexico. While she and Fanny were discussing projects and how to help people, Dr. Lewis thought that the sort of practical advice imparted in the I Wish I Knew Series and their easy to read and artistic format could also help Alzheimers patients. Her book, I Hope They Know, is soon to be published and contains an essay from Fanny on "Survivorship". It also offers some very similar advice to patients, their family and friends, showing that many people can benefit from the insights we gain through the cancer experience, especially if we share. See the extended entry to read Fanny's essay. For more information on Dr. Lewis' effort, visit her web site at www.zoealewis.com

Journaling as Art Workshop at the Blum Resouce Center, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

The results are in and the workshop on Journaling as Art was a huge success! On April 9, Fanny led a workshop to look at journaling as art. The participants responded that they were all inspired after the session and were excited to start journaling, either once again or for the first time. The half day workshop was held at the Blum Resource Center at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. Fanny focused on art as expression and drew from her own art work based on her journals and drawings from the I Wish I Knew series. See the cards based on this same artwork at That Store to get inspired yourself!
