That Barry Girl Collaborates with Enchanted Designs by Molly for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

That Barry Girl Foundation will collaborate with Enchanted Designs by Molly and Persona Salon of Newbury Street this October to offer emotional and financial support to women with breast cancer. Enchanted Designs by Molly has created a sterling silver bracelet with czech glass crystals woven together on silk cord as a breast cancer remembrance bracelet for sale at Persona Salon and here on our web site under the drop down menu "that store" during October. Enchanted Designs by Molly will donate a percentage of each sale to That Barry Girl Foundation. You can see more of Molly's designs at www.enchanteddesignsbymolly.com. Proceeds from the sale of bracelets will purchase books for patients, their family and friends at Beth Israel Deconess Medical Center.

Molly comes from a talented craft family. Her father, Barry, was a scrimshaw artist and medical illustrator. Her mother, Mary Alice, a 25 year breast cancer survivor, has always managed to decorate her home and her family with beautiful hand made crafts and clothing. Molly’s sister and Fanny's lifelong friend, Meg, was a fashion model and is currently a stylist. All of her family is involved in the arts in some way. Molly started weaving Nantucket Baskets in the early 90's and started painting a few years ago. “I can't look at a sunset that I don't imagine what it would look like on canvas” says Molly now. Last year she learned the Japanese weaving technique kumihimo that she used on the breast cancer remembrance bracelet from a friend in Naples, FL. “When my girlfriend Jo Ann got diagnosed with breast cancer in July of this year I wanted to do something for her or on her behalf (she has a good prognosis), so my sister Patti and I came up with the idea of raising funds and awareness thru a pink kumihimo bracelet for sale at the salon. With my mom who is a breast cancer survivor, we have been weaving these bracelets and putting our own spirit of "Thriving, not just Surviving" into each one". Patti manages Persona Salon and her husband Michael is the head stylist there. Molly was inspired by That Barry Girl Foundation and the family believes in its mission and message. Additionally, Mary Alice lives the theme to not just suvive but to thrive. The collaboration is a wonderful blend of family and friends, the exact thing that can help a patient make it through treatment.
